Tiruchirappalli International Airport or Trichy International Airport is an international airport〔(【引用サイトリンク】title=Press Information Bureau English Releases )〕 serving Tiruchirapalli metropolis in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. It is on National Highway 210 connecting Tiruchirapalli with Rameswaram and is 〔(Tiruchirapalli Airport at the Airports Authority of India )〕 south of the city center. Trichy airport is one of the fastest growing international airports in India. The airport is the third largest in the state in passenger and cargo traffic after Chennai International Airport and Coimbatore International Airport. Damaged aircraft that landed at the airport were taken to a workshop in Ponmalai, 2 km away, repaired and brought back into service.
